Xanthelasma / xantelazma palpebrarum / are islands of yellowish cholesterol formations located just under the surface of the skin. The formation is sharply outlined on the skin and is mainly localized in the area of the inner corners of the upper or lower eyelashes /eyelids/. They can be soft or hard to the touch. We usually notice progressive development both in number and size.
